[PRIVATE]

The immature, shortsighted, selfish little bitches... "Oh, my God! What about me?! What about me?! Someone who betrays us doesn't belong! Promises mean nothing to snakes!" There is a give and take the comes with negotiations. He's stuck in a tough position. And it's her own daughter for Christ's sake. If anything had happened to Tabitha... It isn't like... I don't even know why I'm fucking bothering anymore!

It doesn't matter. In the end, it all boils down to who he is. If any one of us had, if any of us had done the same thing, everyone would have looked the other way, if they would have fucking noticed at all. I could probably stab them all in the back, and as long as I was there was with a smile and a joke, they wouldn't suspect a goddamn thing.

That's it. I give. If this is the way we're all going to think and behave, we're fucked.

[PRIVATE TO SEVERUS]

I used to think histrionics was a myth. Now, I'm not so certain. But at least now I know how a lynch mob forms.

Yeah. I really love when people jump to unfounded conclusions based upon second hand information and then start throwing around stereotypes in support their assumptions.

It's surprisingly easy to get them started, frankly. You throw around a stereotype, get one or two loud mouths started, and voilĂ  mob.

I'm sick of losing respect for mine. I think everyone is sick of that. Too much death all around. I don't know why everyone is so blind to the fact that none of this is good for anyone. The way we're going, England is going to be a smoking hole in the ground for it's all said and done.

Forget blood, there won't be any wizards left.

None in the United Kingdom, at least. And there certainly won't be any purebloods left. You'd think they'd see the fatal flaw in sending their young male heirs out to fight battles without any spares to speak of, but so far... I'm not getting any hint of that understanding.

You'd think they'd have just recruited halfbloods & muggleborns non-stop, not that most of them are that stupid except apparently me. There is a rather large push to get them all married off, it's really too bad they can't just jump straight to sex so they can get those babies made as quickly as possible. Courtship is such a time waster really.

It's that damn protocol. It'll come back to bite you in the ass every time.

Bet the guys would love to skip the courtship and jump straight into bed, though. Would save them a lot of time, frustration, and money.

Indeed, rules and red tape for everything.

Seriously. And honestly it wouldn't make a lot of difference in the long run - they're all arranged marriages anyway. Choose a girl, sleep with her, get married a week later. VoilĂ  pureblood babies in nine months. Everyone wins(!)

Clearly, this is the superior solution to all of their ills. With a bun in the oven, their boys could go off and fight and die without any immediate detriment to the family. Well, with the exception of their deaths. But that doesn't seem to matter much to most of them anyway.

Yes, and if the first husband dies, send a second one in, rinse and repeat.

And hello, baby number two.

It's all ridiculous on so many levels.

The levels of emotional attachment vary, but there is something extremely wrong with looking upon a woman as only a means to an end.

Absolutely agreed. And no matter what they say, or claim for caring about her, I'm certain that it ultimately does effect how they view her.

I don't understand how they can think that it's all right to raise a little girl to want nothing more for themselves than a husband and children and for them to only see themselves as being an extension of someone else. It makes any strong personality an immediate contradiction to what is expected, punishing someone for just being themselves.

I can think of at least one girl who is not made to be what is 'expected', and thus is punished for being who she is, or is constantly frustrated trying to be something she is not. And it's stupid that she should have to even attempt to be something she isn't.

Why are we all so afraid of things that are different from us? You know, I'd have cared a hell of a lot less about Black and Potter if they'd just left me alone. And in fact most of the people that I don't understand or totally disagree with, I'd leave alone if they'd not bother me.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. No one should have to pretend to be something other than they are to be accepted. It's doesn't really matter who you are.
